F irst of all I would like to mention that during last four-five years I am not a scientist, I work in the Kyrgyz diplomatic service. But my background allows me. Our Dialogue has reaffirmed the centuries old ties between the peoples of India, Central Asia and Afghanistan.

We are comfortable with each other and are natural partners. The first India-Central Asia Dialogue took place in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, on 12th and 13th January, It was co-chaired by Abdulaziz Kamilov, Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan and Sushma Swaraj, External Affairs Minister of India.

Other participants included the foreign ministers of Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan as well as the First Deputy Foreign Minister of Kazakhstan. India’s External Affairs Minister (EAM) Sushma Swaraj has participated in first India-Central Asia Dialogue in Samarkand, Republic of Uzbekistan.

Apart from five central Asian states of Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, and Tajikistan, Afghanistan also participated in the conference. Dialogue focussed on a number of issues including ways to improve connectivity and stabilize.
